Stop Bullying, Now!!

I met someone on twitter and visited her blog! She has a great blog and a story about being bullied for years. She is reaching out to those who are suffering and letting them know they aren’t alone.  I had my own experiences in school with bullying and it was difficult to deal with, my oldest daughter was bullied for 4 years by the same girl and her group of friends so I appreciate this blog and wanted to feature her here on my blog.

Here is what she has to share:Bullying must stop, words hurt!!

I wish that one day I could wake up to a world that was bully free! I know it will take time but together we will get there.

I’m telling my story of what I’ve been through in the hope that it can help people. I want other victims of bullying to realise that they aren’t alone and I want people to realise that bullying needs to be stopped. I know this isn’t enough but every bit counts right?

I’ve had my blog for about 5 months and already i have 392 subscribers! Which I am very proud of and shocked.  I’ve had good feedback from readers:

“When I read ur blog I feel as if I am reading the story of my life. Admire ur bravery”

For 6 years I have been bullied, now diagnosed with depression and anxiety, and I wish other people didn’t have to go through this. It is a long road to recovery but I’m getting there! :)

So many people have lost their lives to bullying so I don’t understand why it hasn’t been stopped already. How many more people are going to lose their lives before it is finally stopped?

It is estimated that at least 20 children and adolescents a year commit suicide because of being bullied.

“85% had witnessed bullying”

“69% of children in the UK report being bullied”

31 million school days are lost per year as a result of bullying! Bullying affects 1 in 4 in the workplace today.

I know that people think bullying stops after school but the truth is it never really stops, there isn’t an age where people realise they need to grow up. I have done a blog post about bullying in the workplace, I want to show people that it happens. The sad thing is that most of the bullying websites and help lines are for people up to the age of 18. After 18 I can’t find many.

Some victims of bullying decide to leave school, but this shouldn’t have to happen, it should either be stopped or the bullies should have to leave school. The truth is that everyone will get bullied at some point in their lives, I wish this was easier to stop. So much more needs to be done to stop this, but even if it was illegal that would not stop some people.

Nobody should have to go through what I’ve been through, I spend lots of my time in waiting rooms for therapy because the bullying has affected me so much. They wrecked my life, they wreck so many other lives too. I wonder if they realise how much pain they cause us?
Don't let the bullies win!
I got asked this question and it was very hard to answer: “If you  could go back and change what happened would you?
Urm, in a way I would and then in another way I wouldn’t. I think I   would change it because it stopped me doing so much! I didn’t really  have a childhood and if I could go back and change it I would get the  childhood back but I know that’s impossible. On the other hand I  wouldn’t want to change it because I have met so many amazing  people because of my experience with bullying and if I went back in time and changed the experience I might never have met them. Also its made me a better person, I understand people a lot more and want to help them.

Even ONE is too many. I was bullied as a child and I can remember days where I thought about suicide but thankfully I never went through with it.

This is an important subject. It is near and dear to my heart as I and my daughter have experienced serious bullying throughout our lives. I hate that we lose awesome people to this ridiculous treatment. Parents need to teach their kids better.. Thanks again..
