I know most of us don’t want to hear that bullies are human. I fully understand why we don’t want to hear it, my daughter was bullying for years until I involved the school and took control. Bullies tend to be people with no empathy for others and they need to be taught empathy. The problem is getting parents to help and admit the issue.

I came across this website and blog post tonight on twitter and I feel you ALL need to read this post. She talks about how bullies are human and what we can do to help them to learn empathy and stop the bullying of others.

There are several good links within her article and I am asking you click the link below and read this post about bullies:

About Bullies: Bullies Are Humans Too!

It is compassion and caring like this that will change the terrible situation of bullying.  I hope you enjoy this site and please let me know what you think of it..

Go share your love with someone, even if it is just a passing smile to a stranger on the street!!

  1. Shauna, thank you for sharing DS Walker’s article with your readers. Bullying is something many of us have personally experienced with our children and this is such an important topic to spread to others. I also want to thank you for sharing your insights on bipolar–I will be coming back often. Take care.

    • HI Danette,

I was very happy to share the article.. It is so true that we need to react with kindness not anger and further bullying. I was bullied as a child and watched the same thing happen to my daughter.. Until I stood up for her and went to the school to get them involved nothing changed nothing worked.. I tried to reach the family in other ways but was unsuccessful after 4 yrs of it that was enough and I reacted with anger. Things are better for her but I would have felt horrible to have just bullied back and not tried kindness. Thank you for the comments..

  2. Shauna, it’s always good to try and see why people are acting the way they are. Although bullying cannot be tolerated, we should try to reach out to them and see if there are underlying factors that kindness and compassion could help with.

    • I fully agree… You have to start with kindness.. and hope it does the trick. Thanks for the comment, it means a lot to me.
