I have come across a video that explains 5 Types of Bipolar Disorder, This is an interesting video and I think some of you may find it helpful so I am posting it here.

If you or anyone you know thinks you may be affected by a Mental Illness please get professional help. Don’t try to self diagnose.

I came across this video I believe on twitter. I am impressed by it and the message.

My daughter was bullied for more than 4 years, until I went to the school and reported it and kept going back to report it! The damage has been done and it was so bad that she would come out of school crying. Her self esteem is non-existent which started when the bullying began. Continue reading »

Hi everyone! I’m sure you remember me sharing that I have a new neighbor that is super friendly but I had a feeling he had some troubles and in talking to him he does and was fearing he may be Bipolar or have a mental illness of some form.Image of a Boy Blowing Bubble

We have talked a lot and he has shared a very troubling life. He has been through a lot from a young age and honestly I told him he may just have a lot of baggage he needs to deal with and therapy would likely help him. He is waiting for his insurance from his new job to kick in then he says he will go for help once again. He has seen doctors and therapist before but has not had insurance for a while. I don’t know about you but I find the pressures of life sometimes to really get to me! My life is always full of weird stuff, but after being gone almost 5 days and having a lot to catch up on and the daily things that have to be done… well I just can’t handle the pressure.

Maybe its the Bipolar Depression kicking in but yesterday after a long day of juggling several people and conversation and taking on new tasks I was really in a mood. Not a good one either! We went out to dinner with my dad, my brother and his family and Carl for Jessica and my niece Megan’s birthdays, so the day ended well but when I arrived at the restaurant at 5 pm I could have taken someone’s head off.  Thankfully I can report I did not!! Laughing Woohoo!!!  Continue reading »

Have you ever known anyone that had their identity stolen? I haven’t personally but there are millions of people a year that are victims of identity theft. I hope Identity theft never touches your life. My last post touched a bit on over spending and Credit reports but I thought this is another area that we should all be concerned with..

It’s very important to keep your information safe. You can end up financially ruined if your information falls into the wrong hands. It is very difficult to correct a situation where someone has stolen your identity. Continue reading »

If you have read some of my other posts about my oldest daughter and her father you will understand this one.  If not read through A Broken Relationship.. Father and Daughter.Hand of father and child together

It’s Valentines day today! My oldest daughter texts me from school as she was upset and needed to come home. I told her to go to the nurse and have her call me and I would come get her. She suffers from Bipolar II disorder, heavy on the depression and I knew this morning she wasn’t feeling happy. There are too many bad feelings bouncing back and forth between her and her father and it has gone on way too long. Continue reading »

Did you know that Over Spending is a common symptom for a person with  Bipolar Disorder. Boy! When the doctor first told me that it explained a lot! Smile Before I knew I was Bipolar, I was in charge of all our family finances. We both worked but I took care of all the money. Not the best idea! Surprised

I have to say I never understood how I could overspend every month, but I did. We ended up deep in a hole and my illness got so bad I had to cut back hours then a few months later I had to quit working. That Left us upside down month after month as I/we had run up a high amount on credit cards.   Continue reading »

I thought it might be fun to see what you all think of Psychic abilities.  I have looked into a specific ability and that is Clairsentience or Clairsentient! A reader suggested to me that my Empathy issue could be a gift I am not aware of. Now I have always considered empathy a gift, but is there more to it? I’m always a curious gal so here we are looking it up.  Continue reading »

I want to wish everyone, who isn’t bothered by Valentines Day. a Happy Valentines Day.  I think we all have a different out look on this particular holiday.  So I’m hoping you will share some thoughts with me and my other readers.

I was talking to Carl last night and he says guys just fret it and have to remember to do something special and are happy when its over. Laughing  I cracked up.  Guys is it really that big a deal? If you are just doing it because you have to why do you feed into it at all?Image of a chocolate heart

I enjoy Valentines day but not all the commercial bologna behind it. I don’t care if you get me a card or flowers or anything really. I gratefully accept chocolate but that’s year round.  No need to wait for a specified day for that! Continue reading »

Do you have children that like to wait until the last possible moment of the night to decide to tell you they have a project due tomorrow morning? I do. It is quite awesome, let me tell you. I sometimes wonder what is going through their little minds when all night everything is cool and there is no mention of a book report of science project until just the moment before bed. It is like they look at the clock and think “ok, I can drop this on my parents now AND I will get to stay up late!” Little do they know that they will be grounded for the next week and maybe that will help them remember their project next time! So as you probably have guessed since my children are procrastinators they probably had to get that from somewhere. It is me. I will admit, I am the world’s worst when it comes to waiting until the last minute. I can’t help it when I have all these things on my Direct.TV DVR to catch up on the laundry can wait!

This is a Re-blog from Jason’s Spina Bifida Journey!

Update For My Readers

Hi guys!! I know I’ve been MIA for quite a while, and for that I am so sorry. I have been battling a cold and have been really busy with a big project at work, which has taken up most of my time.

image of my 2012 goals chalk boardI just wanted to drop by and let you know that I have some great, amazing things planned for the blog this year, but it’ll probably be another week before I’m able to devote some time and give some TLC to my writing. I guarantee that I’ll be back and want to thank everyone for their patience. I’m actually surprised some of you haven’t sent out APBs looking for me. :)

Have an amazing weekend and a better week!! Oh yeah, don’t forget to hug your family this weekend and let them know how much they mean to you. Time’s so precious, don’t let it slip away before it’s too late… you’ll never get it back.

Before I go, I just wanted to ask you to tell your friends and family to check me out and follow my blog, follow me on Twitter and connect with me on LinkedIn. I look forward to networking with you all in 2012!!!

This is an area I have always had a difficult time with, the loss of someone I care about. I am a highly sensitive and emotional person, not to speak of moody. LOL So when there is a death near me or I am in the presence of someone that has recently lost a loved one, I can not contain my emotions. Cry

I got news today that a woman, I thought of as a mother for years, has lost her battle with cancer. She has been ill for a long time and due to circumstances with a family member I have not seen her for several years. I see on Face book today that she has passed. I was hurt and saddened because my friend that I have known since I was three, her daughter, hadn’t even let me know she was doing so badly.  I wish I could have seen her to tell her how much she meant to me when she was there for me as a mom. I think she knows how important she was to me but I wish I could have thanked her one more time.

I feel so badly for her girls and her husband. This has been a long battle for her and them. Her family must be devastated to lose her but they know she is no longer in pain and in a better place. It was her time to go.

Shirley was a warm, loving woman who did a lot of others. When I was a teenager and struggling with my relationship with my mom, Shirley was there for me. I even lived at their house for a period of time when I had no where else to go. She kept me going and helped me to move forward in my life, something you can never repay! For years she really was Mom to me, I called her mom number 2. She was supportive to everyone in her life and really gave to people.  She will be missed by many who loved her.

Rest in Peace Shirley! I love you! You will be missed!

Lately I have been thinking about this topic of Empathy and how it may relate to my Mental Illness. I was talking to a good friend when she said her son, who has a diagnosis, is very in tune with people and how empathetic he is.  It was like a light bulb went off and I said that my daughter is also very empathetic and I have always had a large dose of empathy in my dealings with others.

I told her that I think the Empathy is related to our Mental illness and honestly that I think it doesn’t help us with stabilizing our illness. What I mean is we are so sensitive to emotions and what I always have called peoples vibes that it affects us greatly. I am very affected by others feelings. I can’t go to a funeral for anyone whether I know them or not with out being so completely utterly hysterical that I can’t stay at the service long. I end up Bawling and snot is going everywhere and I always run out of tissues. (Yuck not a good visual) The emotions are over whelming and I feel the sadness and despair others feel as if it is my own. I cannot control it in the least. I can read someone’s story in a book and feel the loss or sadness, mostly books that are real life stories.  Although I bawl like a baby at any sad movie. It is embarrassing it’s so bad.  Image of a waterfall

Anyway back to the topic… I think the empathy we feel, the sense of others problems we feel, even when we don’t know what the problem is can really be difficult when it comes to stabilizing a mental illness.  I have not actually done any research it’s just my observation, as when someone near me has a serious problem I tend to become unstable and its usually surrounding their feelings that starts it. It goes on for a long time once it starts too.

I think I am going to do some research and see what information might be out there to see if anyone else has researched or thought this way…

I will have to do another post on this subject soon.. Keep an eye out for it…

A quote for today:

The secret of many a man’s success in the world resides in his insight into the moods of men and his tact in dealing with them. ~J. G. Holland

I have recently been introduced to another site, new to me, where you can order all types of signs.  It is called SafetySign.com , on this site you can order ALL types of signs from Safety to Recreational.

For example, here a few links that will take you to different areas of the site.

Street Signs

No Trespassing Signs (I know a few people that could use these)

Road Signs (If you have a private road)

SafetySign.com  is for anyone needing OSHA compliant signs and custom signs. A great source for Safety Signs, Traffic Signs, Parking Signs, Construction Signs, Road Signs, Danger Signs, Caution Signs, Warning Signs and you can make a custom sign online as well! If you have property you may want to post some no trespassing or other warning signs, this is the place to get them.

They have Safety Decals that you can use to label Table Saws or other dangerous equipment.  Their signs are manufactured here in the U.S.A. as well. For me that is always a good point! They will also match ANY competitors prices which is very handy!

Now, I haven’t actually ordered any signs from them so I can’t speak from personal experience, but go have a look at the signs and check out their policies. They are all clearly listed and in the learning center you will find the links to all their policies.
